Italy 2010 - Day 5: Tenno and Lake Tenno

Each of us got to make a request of where we would like to go on this trip (near where we were touring obviously) - Tenno, and especially Lago di Tenno, was my request.
After leaving Malcesine, we drove up the winding roads toward Tenno and missed it twice Smile

After walking through the old city we drove further on trying to find the lake. It was getting late and after driving around a while and taking a few wrong turn-offs, my grandfather got frustrated and decided to drive home.

After about 30mins my mom said “Dad, what are the chances that we’re even going to be here again? shouldn’t we at least try to find the lake?”
So my grandfather turned the van around again - which is no small feat on those narrow roads - and we went looking for the lake. It was well worth it!
The lake cannot be reached via car so you have to park and walk down - and this is what meets you...

The colour of the water has not been edited - it really is a deep turquoise. Because the lake is surrounded by mountains, it is so quiet that you can’t hear any cars driving by on the main road nearby - all you hear are the birds singing.
If you’re looking for a day of complete relaxation without anyone bothering you - this is the spot!
