Back in 2003 we also visited Isola Bella and it really is a MUST SEE if you’re going to Italy!
It’s situated on Lake Maggiore near the town of Stresa. The main attraction of the island is the castle which was built by Carlo III of the influential House of Borromeo. The palazzo was dedicated to his wife, Isabella D'Adda, after whom the island is named.
The island as seen from the shores of Stresa
First - breakfast in Stresa before boarding the ferry
A huge water fountain at the middle of the gardens
Then some exploration just before lunch
And off to Stresa again for some shopping
Happy Monday everyone!
