For Wihan’s dad’s birthday last year, he decided that the family would head out to Mpumalanga and spend the weekend in the mountains at a lodge called Mount Sheba. On our way there we stopped in Dullstroom - a gorgeous little town with plenty of interesting sights...
I found this tree (anyone have an idea what it is?) and could resist taking a photo - I mean, how gorgeous is it?! This was hidden in the tree - tied around one of the branches. When I see things like this I always wonder what the story behind it is... To get to Mount Sheba you have to drive quite a while on a really bad dirt road. There wasn’t enough space in the car for all the baggage AND the food for the weekend so the cooler-bag went on the back and from all the bouncing on the dirt road there was a LITTLE accident... Yip, that’s our food for the weekend. Looks yummy huh? :) We were pretty much IN a cloud all weekend and didn’t see much sun. I didn’t mind; it made for some awesome picturesWe drove down to Pilgrim’s Rest one day to go see the sights. Another quaint little town hidden in the mountains. Below: This must be one of the coolest photos I’ve ever taken! Looks pretty creepy doesn’t it?!
Mac-Mac Falls On the last day there we went hiking through the woods. We were supposed to just take a short route to see the sights but ended up wandering off the path, getting completely lost and doing some SERIOUS climbing (not featured here)
Here’s to life!
