These two have one of the cutest stories I’ve heard…
Monique was waitressing one particularly busy night, when Nico and his family came in. They were one of the more patient tables that night. When the time came to pay, Monique didn’t have the change they needed – Nico immediately said “You can keep the change if you give me your number?” It was quite a large tip so she started writing down her number right away :) This wasn’t the first time she’d been asked for her number and she always gave a wrong number but that night, something made her give him the right number.
As they say – the rest is history.
It just so happens that Monique and I were friends back in primary school but lost touch over the years. We found each other again via Facebook and when we discovered we both had a love for photography we quickly became good friends.
Hope you like these my friend! Couldn’t decide if I liked the colour or B/W more… Jip, that’s Monique you can (slightly) see through the viewfinder :)Happy weekend!

Advanced Driving
A few weeks ago I went for an advanced driving course (I’m doing my test tomorrow - eek). Part of the training was doing some cool manoeuvres on the skid pan. I took this opportunity to practise my panning…
It was much harder doing it on a skid pan than I would imagine it being on a race track coz the the cars don’t only go one way, but I think I got a few decent ones…?
Happy Thursday!

I have been converted…
I used to be a cat person…
I say used to be because I have officially changed my mind – cat’s are selfish, lazy and even though I find them extremely cute, I won’t be getting myself one.
I changed my mind for 2 reasons:
1 – I watched Marley & Me. I know it sounds like a stupid reason but I realised just how much dogs care and how they do become as much a part of your life as any child would
2 – After coming home to Wihan’s house from a weekend away for his sisters birthday, we got out the car and their dog, Snowy, ran up and started barking and jumping around, clearly excited to see us. We took our bags inside and found the cat who immediately started meowing and wanting us to stroke him – so much for a warm welcome from the cat!
Therefore I have decided that even though cats are beautiful animals – I’d much rather get a pet that loves me more than it loves itself.
Here’s a photo of the cat – Sokkies – doing what he does best… Being lazy!
Happy Monday!

Going for a spin
Wihan’s dad has a love for things with wheels… Since Wihan and I started dating in 2005, his dad has had many new cars and even more new motorbikes. He and Wihan’s mom love going for rides on Sundays and most public holidays - Friday, 10 April was one of these days and Wihan and I were invited to join them.
Here are a few pics I took of the trip:
We stopped at a little restaurant on the way for breakfast but ended up only having coffee because half the menu was unavailable – it had some stunning scenery…
Here’s my sexy fiancĂ© posing next to a gorgeous old rusted carWihan and my future dad-in-law We finally stopped for breakfast at Amanzingwe – don’t these drinks look delicious? They were! The walls at the bar were filled with display cases containing old car figurines. Love it!Finally started catching up with all my editing – expect more soon!
